David Denhup

David Denhup, 59, of Milford, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Orange Health Care Center. Born December 26, 1954, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Pawasauskas) Denhup. At age 9, he traveled with his family from the U.S. to Europe when his father served his career with the Army. With his family, he settled in Milford and attended local schools. He was the owner of Milford Comm & Electric and later worked for Chapco in Chester. He was a proud member of the Milford Elks Lodge #1589 and Ansantawae Masonic Lodge No 89 A.F. & A.M. and will be sadly missed as an integral part of Milford’s Oyster Fest. David leaves to cherish his memory, his sister Diane Denhup of Milford with whom he resided, his brother James (Linda) Denhup of New Hampshire, his nephews, Joseph of New Hampshire and Nicholas of Milford, his nieces, Jennifer of New Hampshire and Elizabeth of Chicago, IL., his Uncle Stanley Powers of Milford and his former wife Colleen Denhup and many cousins. He was predeceased by his son Jeremy. David was a good son, brother, father and friend. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Middlesex Hospital and Orange Health Care for treating Dave with dignity and kindness. Friends may call Saturday March 22, 2014 at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St. in Milford from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Prayer Service will be held during the visitation and Elk's Service at 4:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to: Oxford Special Olympics, 13 Lisbon Terrace, Oxford, CT 06478.
