Winter Tire Safety Tips That Could Safe Your Life

Winter is the absolute worst time to neglect tires. Among the most important systems in your car when it comes to vehicle safety is your tires.

We always try our best to educate our family, neighbors, and customers on the safety and maintenance tips they need to know to make the most out of their vehicle and keep themselves and their passengers safe. Among the most important systems in your car when it comes to vehicle safety is your tires; after all they are the only part of the car directly on the road! That is why it is especially important to take special notice of your tires to ensure that they always have proper pressure, tread, and are free of holes and leaks.

Here's a list of our recent publications concerning tire safety; be sure to share this valuable information with family and friends to ensure that your loved ones are safe when they head out on the road. Do you have any other tire safety tips to share? Be sure to give us your insight in the comments!

Stay Fuel Efficient and Avoid Accidents with Proper Tire Pressure and Tread: Without proper tire pressure, your fuel economy suffers, meaning you end up paying more money on gasoline that's already expensive. You also put yourself at a greater risk of an accident as a result of a popped tire from heat damage, an unexpected pot hole, or rough terrain. You could also risk an accident from low tire tread in inclement weather such as rain or snow.

Proper Tire Pressure Leads to a Greener Vehicle: Did you know that having the right amount of pressure in your tires will make your vehicle more green? Because you experience better fuel economy, you won't be releasing as much pollution in the air (and you'll save a bit of money at the pump!). Don't Neglect to Change Your Tires: Neglecting your vehicle's tires is one of the most dangerous decisions you can make as a driver. Not only are you putting yourself and your passengers at risk of injury from a tire-related mishap, you also endanger other drivers on the road. In the case of an accident or a repair needed as a result of neglected tires, you'll end up paying more money than if you had replaced the tires at the proper time.

Always Be Conscious of Your Tires in Winter: The winter is the absolute worst time to neglect your tires in many areas because of the increased chance of harsh weather. While rain can always pose a risk to drivers with worn out tires, snow and ice are especially dangerous. If you haven't had your tires inspected this winter, be sure to do so before it's too late.
