In 1675 Alexander Bryan, Richard Bryan, and Sgt. East owned ships engaged in trade between Milford, Boston, and the West Indies. They sent cattle, horses, beef, and corn meal to the West Indies and brought back rum and molasses.
In 1887 a fire destroyed all but 400 volumes of the 1700 volume collection of the Milford Lyceum Library. The city allotted $75 per year to keep the library running. This funding stayed in place until the Taylor Library opened.
In 1928 the Bayview News reported that Miss Catherine Kelly of Deerfield Avenue spent last weekend at her cottage.
