Big News in State Senate Race

Big News in State Senate Race - Mike DeGrego - a political newcomer with impressive credentials - selected as the candidate for the 14th Senate District.

ORANGE - Planning for change in Hartford, Republicans on Monday endorsed Mike DeGrego - a political newcomer with impressive credentials - as the candidate for the 14th Senate District, which includes Milford and sections of West Haven, Orange and Woodbridge. DeGrego, who became a community volunteer and involved in a small local business after a stellar career in law enforcement, accepted the endorsement with gratitude and a determination to win back the Senate seat.

"I meet people every day who agree with me that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH with the way Hartford is running our State," DeGrego said. DeGrego slammed the recent Senate passage of same day election registration in Connecticut. "I find the actions of our Senate appalling, and I'm finding more and more people who feel the same. Our State has become filled with people who feel that the power they have as elected officials allows them to do what they feel is best, not what we know is right. These actions by our Democrat elected officials show they will do anything for a vote, they are pushing the state toward ruin, and little is being done to stop them," DeGrego said.

"I know they are representing without thought of the diversity of our State." DeGrego noted that, for years Connecticut registered voters in a way that showed respect for the system, respect for the position, and truly a respect for the process. He contends that the last few votes of the recently concluded legislative session have proven how the Senate will pass anything in order to keep their jobs. When those in power continually break with tradition to satisfy their own needs," DeGrego said, "it’s time for a change. That change is me."

While there are many reasons the passing of the "go out to vote day" is wrong, DeGrego said his main concern is that we will not be able to adequately filter the people who truly should not be allowed to vote. "Now, I agree everyone has the right to vote. However, this law exposes us to the increased possibility of election fraud." DeGrego noted that the process has always been one of great respect and honor, and wondered "Why change the process now?" DeGrego said, "I'm running for State Senate to give back to the good people of this State the kind of public servant you deserve. I will fight for what is right for all of us. You will have a voice, not mine, and one that will not flip flop over ideas and thoughts. I will stand for you, and I will do what is needed.

"Connecticut needs to put people first – including the retirees who have little voice but are experiencing a lot of fear; the children who are used as pawns every election; and the many thousands in the middle. These are the folks looking for jobs, running out of unemployment because Connecticut tweaked the numbers to make it look better than it is. "I am running for you. With your help, I will take with me your needs, your thoughts, and your hopes, and I will make sure your vote is heard."

Treasurer Kevin Houlihan??? Isn't that the same guy who had a DUI in Orange and had loaded guns in the car??? Nice guy to associate with.

CT currently has the highest per capita deficit of any State in the Union. It has gradually attained this ranking as the Slossberg has vowed to be fiscally responsible to the voters of her district for the last several terms.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.

Please contact Forgotten Felines in Clinton. They are a no kill cat shelter. Offering "free toRead More a good home" pets is dangerous. There are bad people out there who take them and sell them to research labs or use them as bait in dog fighting. Please rethink this ad.
