I would like to show the city of Milford a glimpse of "Historic Milford in Bloom 1639-2012" which was held this weekend ( Saturday September 22 2012 ) at the three buildings on High Street known as the Milford Historical Society. The Milford Garden Club has been planning this small Standard Flower Show for nearly a year now and we feel so pleased to share it with you now.
The Milford Historic Society opened their doors to us and permitted us to use the three houses to stage our show.
Not only did the public get to see unusual examples of horticulture ( flowers, evergreens, herbs, potted plants , etc ) but they also saw 16 examples of floral design . Our show was judged by members of the Judges Council of Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut and we recieved many awards from them. It is a labor of love and pride to put on a Flower Show. I will be posting about that , and more, in the future here on Patch.com.
