The Beach is Calling...

Owner of the shop Ocean's Spray is sharing her sentiments on her new shop downtown, mayor Ben Blake, and a lifetime of memories shared on Milford's shoreline.

Sunday will be the one month anniversary of our move to our new location 14 Broad Street, Downtown Milford, and what a grand way to celebrate it with our first blog on the Milford Patch!

I am thrilled to get "patched" in and introduce myself to the community. Owning a shop in the heart of my hometown is a dream come true. Our new landlords and friends, The Heberts, are advocates for Downtown Milford, were so helpful in getting us here and we are thrilled about the relationship.

Two weeks ago we were thrilled to have Milford Mayor Ben Blake came down to formally introduce us into downtown with a ribbon cutting and he was so positive for our opening. We are so thankful to all those who contributed and supported our move. Visit our blog to see pictures of the event.

For those of you who don't know about us we are the new shop downtown and we sell more than just furniture and accessories. We sell a state-of-mind. I believe that there is something so relaxing about our beach-chic style and we want to inspire you through it.

Did you know that Milford has approximately 17 miles of shoreline?

We are a coastal community and the beaches for many residents hold special moments and memories. For example, thirty-two years ago my husband asked me to marry him at Gulf Beach, nine years ago my daughter was engaged to her husband at the beach, and five years ago my son asked his wife to marry him by Milford Harbor. I can only imagine how many people hold the same sentiments.

So when you need a gift or if you are looking for something special or you just want to browse, feel free to stop by because the beach is calling.....

I don't mind more pizza if its good pizza. There are plenty of horrible and so-so pizza places inRead More Milford. Currently 314 B-port Ave is a boarded up building with a parking lot where cops love to sit. Either this will prevent cops from sitting their or will cause them to sit there more. Also ladies, Milford is known for its P's: pizza, porn, package, and pawn.

I second Christina! Is no one listening? we are up to our ears in pizza! Im pretty sure we have moreRead More pizza in milford than new haven! Where is this trailer going to park at the devon market!? the traffic the market creates is bad enough for people that live in that area without a mobile oven rolling on in! I hope they have thought of that issue at the very least!
