Devon Bark Park Project: 'For The Love Of Our Dogs' [PatchWorks]

Volunteers are seeking community support to create a dog park in Milford. Here's how you can help.

PatchWorks — a new neighborhood platform that can help you raise money and recruit volunteers — is helping neighbors to share and celebrate local projects and causes with the community.

Here's a look at one of Milford's current PatchWorks projects, Devon Park Bark.

Tell us a bit about your project!

For the love of our dogs ...  We are a group of dog lovers that joined together as volunteers, and in concert with the City, are working to create a state of the art dog park.  Not just an area with a fence, but a space where we can hold educational and recreational activities, as well as training, that promote responsible dog ownership and dog obedience within the community.

Why is this project important to the community?

Our community needs a beautifully fenced in, safe and clean place for our dogs to socialize off leash.  There are so many dogs in our city, but very few places for them to run and play, especially in an off leash environment.

What inspires you to volunteer or be active in your community?

It is by far the most rewarding experience. It costs nothing to give a few minutes of your timebut the end result is worth a million bucks.

What do you love about your community?

The kindness and generosity of the people that live here.
