Milford Invention Convention - Parent Orientation

The Milford Education Foundation is excited to present the first city-wide Milford Invention Convention, in association with the renowned Connecticut Invention Convention.

The Milford Invention Convention is open to kindergarten through grade 8 students
and is designed to develop and enhance critical thinking skills through
invention, innovation and entrepreneurship. Finalists have the opportunity to advance to the 31st annual Connecticut Invention
Convention (CIC), which brings hundreds of young inventors from across
the state together to present at the University of Connecticut. Previous
CIC finalists have had their inventions patented, displayed at the
Connecticut Science Center, featured in New York Times articles and on
national television.

In preparation for the Milford Invention Convention,
the Milford Education Foundation and the Milford Public Library will be
running workshops on Saturday mornings from January-March 2014 for
kindergarten through grade 5 at the library. Harborside and West Shore
Middle Schools, as well as the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club, will
also be running their own workshops.

Parents are strongly encouraged to attend one of the Parent Orientations, which will cover an overview of the program and everything parents needs to know in order for their children to participate. Parent Orientations will be held on Thursday, December 5th and on Monday, January 6th at Harborside Middle School at 7 pm. Registration forms will be available at the Parent Orientations.
