GIRLS' NIGHT OUT--Monroe Food Pantry

October is a time for The Monroe Food Pantry's Fundraising Committee to make sure women focus on health issues. This year is no exception.  The Monroe Food Pantry ispleased to sponsor its inaugural women's health related event a “GIRLS' NIGHT OUT,” with a focus on women’s health and well being.
Co chairs are Rhonda Rooney and Wendy Jolls.  For a donation of $10.00 or save  $5.00 with a donation of 3 nonperishable food items that evening, guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a glass of wine, beautiful music provided by Hannah Fair, a door prize ticket and access to numerous local vendors.  This is a wonderful opportunity to step out and enjoy a fun evening as you learn more about women's health issues and meet a variety of guest speakers and vendors.  Come and learn about what's new and exciting in the health and wellness world. Meet and support local Monroe vendors and health care practitioners.   Meet vendors such as: Lori Guttman, Zumba instructor who will be leading an exhilarating class; bring out your Zen in a relaxing Yoga class with Stefanie Cohen; hula hoop for a fun exercise session with "Bring the Hoopla."
Jennifer Kalotai will be offering a Pampered Chef demonstration.  "Healing Touch" practitioners will be on hand also. Qivana representatives will explain the natural way to Health & Wellness through their synergistic product systems.  Meet the people from C.H.A.I.N. (Compassionate Hands Assisting Interim needs, Inc) a nonprofit organization who assist patients who are currently going through cancer treatments and are in need of help.

Nursing. Mary Lisi, RN will be performing blood pressure checks and information on Health & Wellness for Women of all ages.  You can also sign up for the MobileMammography Van with Shirley Pinette. The Van will be at the Senior Center on Sunday, November 17th. Amway representatives will be performing facial screenings and tips on how to prevent sun damage. Stylist Angela Ballaro will be giving complimentary blowouts & hair tinseling, along with vendors representing Tastefully Simple, Olive my Skin, Rockman Construction (Home Improvement Services for women), Bead of Roses, Wild Tree, Silpada, Pink Zebra, Premier Jewelry, Haegar Art, CERT, Qivana, Tiny Fuzzies Baby Hats and Blankets, North American Power, Center for Woman and Families, Re-Designed by Elizabeth, Mary Kay, Partylite, Discovery Toys, Rodan & Fields, ADAM (Alcohol and Drug Awareness of Monroe) AND MORE!! Vendors will be donating gifts from their product lines to our Chinese Raffle.  Tickets will be $1 each or $5 for an arms length. The Monroe Food Pantry provides emergency food for Monroe residents who are registered with the Monroe Dept. of Social Services. The inability to provide basic food to a family is not limited to the inner cities or rural area. There are currently more than 190 Monroe households who qualify and are benefitting from the service.

The Food Pantry is primarily supported by the generous donations of the people ofMonroe and a network of volunteers who keep the shelves stocked.  Fresh vegetables, meats, baked goods and non perishable items are available free to qualified residents.
