Sheridan Returns!

WESTPORT, CT – Huntington Street Café in Shelton has a habit and her name is Suzanne Sheridan. For good reason – Sheridan knows her way around a song and the crowds at Huntington Street Café know a good thing when they hear it. Singer-songwriter Sheridan will be appearing for the sixth time at the popular café voted Best Restaurant With Live Music in Fairfield County.

Best known for performing the music of two of the greatest musical poets of our time, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, Sheridan will also be throwing in a few surprises at her upcoming gig at HSC on Saturday March 2 from 8-10 PM. An award-winning singer-songwriter in her own right, Sheridan commented, “For years I have been covering Joni’s songs in clubs and concerts. Then I read ‘Girls Like Us’ and found out that Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell had this passionate two-week love affair and I thought to myself, I have to bring them back together and the only way I can do that is musically.”

In the book, “Girls Like Us”, author Sheila Weller offers this observation, “Joni embarked upon a love affair with Leonard Cohen.  Although their romance was short-lived, its influence was among the most important in her career.  In fact, no brief relationship in Joni’s life produced as many songs – and so many of her better songs – as did her few-weeks-long-romance with Cohen.”

Joni Mitchell’s greatest hits include “Both Sides Now”, “Big Yellow Taxi,” “You Turn Me On, I’m a Radio,” “A Case of You,” and “Chelsea Morning”. Cohen’s discography includes “Suzanne”, “Anthem”, “Like a Bird on a Wire”, and “Hallelujah”.

Sheridan will be joined on March 2 by poets Michael Juliano and Ralph Adams in addition to bass player Chris Brown, who has performed with the likes of Paul Winter and Santana.  As previously reported, surprise is on the menu.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.

Please contact Forgotten Felines in Clinton. They are a no kill cat shelter. Offering "free toRead More a good home" pets is dangerous. There are bad people out there who take them and sell them to research labs or use them as bait in dog fighting. Please rethink this ad.
