The powerful winds also may have lifted this trampoline owners common sense. Here, is a perfect example of what happens when we don't think about others safety and well being, we all suffer. I would have gladly taken the trampoline apart Saturday or Sunday if you asked for help and certainly would have tied it down to the house. Enjoy having no power.

Please...can someone say photoshop? This is a lone "photo" that is making the rounds on the internet, with no other confirmation, photos, location etc.

I've been reading the comments for the last couple of days where people are looking for information. The city of Milford website has a ton of info on it. So does the Milford Police Department website which has a list of all the evacuated streets. The City of Milford site has a frequently updated list of street closures, most with reasons (i.e. flooding, tree down, etc.). The link is http://www.ci.milford.ct.us/public_documents/index Click on the red Hurricane Sandy banner, then the blue info link which will open a new window,

Grumble, the UI tally board was going up yesterday, and hasn't changed today from reported in the "New Center" article for yesterday. In our case the tree was removed from the wires Tuesday. Stuff happens, but it would be nice to know better than "95% chance we'll have power back by Monday" -- if it's going to be Monday we'll take different action than if it's going to be tonight. Same thing with the schools - I've got a child who visited Massachusetts over the weekend. When schools were canceled for Monday and Tuesday we decided he shouldn't bus into an emergency area. If they'd announce sooner than the night before there is no school, he would settle in where he is instead of scrambling to find transportation back.

I was driving down Seabreeze Avenue on Wednesday with my family when we saw a guy dressed up in a Jason outfit holding an axe driving a lawn tractor. Needless to say, he was able to make some people forget about what was happening around them for a moment...

Very gratifying to see how 10 new members pitched in to help the stalwarts of Wildermere Beach Cong. Church get the building and grounds ready for Sunday services and man the community aide distribution center. As their Pastor, I commend their Christianity in action!
