Schools Letting Students Use Tablets, Smartphones

A new generation of high-tech devices have made their way into Milford classrooms.

The public schools is one of the first school districts in the area to allow for doing school work.

An article in the New Haven Register describes Milford’s policy as BYOD, "bring your own device." The schools do not provide iPads, iPhones, Kindles and other similar computer devices, but the district allows parents to provide them for their children to bring to school.

Among the educational uses of the devices are note-taking, research, ebook downloads, research and access to Internet tutorials.
