Letter: A Phone Call with Milford's Mayor

Rita Simone writes about her one-on-one meeting with Milford Mayor Ben Blake.

Dear Editor,

Imagine my delight when I received a "personal phone call" from Ben Blake, our new Mayor, and after only one request for a meeting. I was greeted with a strong handshake and big smile. I was early but immediately ushered into his office. He was charming and not overbearing or puffed up with his position.

We chatted, I had a few issues to discuss, he took notes and even made a phone call  to one of the departments on my behalf. To my astonishment, he got results right away. My family and I have lived in Milford, in the same house or some 56+ years.

For a while now, with sadness,  I have been thinking about pulling up roots and leaving Milford, but now I am digging in and seeing it through. I know there is someone looking after us, leading with a strong hand. He is also really interested in what I am feeling and experiencing.

Bravo Mr. Mayor welcome, you are a ray of sunshine, keep on keeping on.  It was a pleasure meeting you, I have gained back my faith.

I don't mind more pizza if its good pizza. There are plenty of horrible and so-so pizza places inRead More Milford. Currently 314 B-port Ave is a boarded up building with a parking lot where cops love to sit. Either this will prevent cops from sitting their or will cause them to sit there more. Also ladies, Milford is known for its P's: pizza, porn, package, and pawn.

I second Christina! Is no one listening? we are up to our ears in pizza! Im pretty sure we have moreRead More pizza in milford than new haven! Where is this trailer going to park at the devon market!? the traffic the market creates is bad enough for people that live in that area without a mobile oven rolling on in! I hope they have thought of that issue at the very least!
