Foundation Aids Wheelchair Accessibility at Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center

The Wheels in the Woods Foundation paid for boardwalk and nature path modifications and donated specially designed wheelchairs at the nature sanctuary in Milford.

People in wheelchairs can get around on the boardwalks and gravel paths at the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Coastal Center at Point thanks to .

According to an article by the Connecticut Post, the Wheels in the Woods Foundation run by Don Chiboucas of Fairfield has provided grants to Connecticut Audubon to modify its paths and boardwalks for sightseers and bird watchers so that people who need wheelchairs can also use them.

The foundation also donated two specially designed wheelchairs that can navigate on beach sand, and which are available on request at the Milford Point nature sanctuary.
