Cops: TV, Jewelry Stolen from Milford Home

A patrol sergeant stopped the alleged burglar's car leaving the residence.


A Shelton man allegedly stole a television and two jewelry boxes from a Cedarhurst Lane residence on September 1st at 2:00 p.m.

received a complaint of a suspicious male at the front door of a Cedarhurst Lane residence.

Shortly after, a report of burglar alarm activation came from the same home.

The alleged burglar, Jorge Valdes, age 49 of Shelton, was stopped by a patrol sergeant after leaving the residence.

Inside the vehicle, a television and two jewelry boxes were allegedly found.

Police also seized a burglary tool that was allegedly used to gain access to the residence.

Valdes was arrested by Milford Police Detective Kopazna.

Jorge Valdes has been charged with third degree burglary, fifth degree larceny, possession of burglary tools and third degree criminal mischief.

He is being held on $50,000 bond.
