At my last visit, I had a terrible experience. I was receiving new glasses and contacts for the first time. While I was helped right at my appointment time, I felt rushed and as if she had overbooked for that time (she is the only doctor in the small office).

I had received one kind of contact prescription and once I left the office, I felt that I needed some astigmatism correction as opposed to contacts without astigmatism correction. When I came back she put words into my mouth in a condescending way, saying that I was nervous- even though all I did was explain how my eyesight was disoriented when I walked around. Then, once I sat down to try on the other contacts, I asked why she wanted me to wear contacts without astigmatism correction when my glasses have astigmatism correction. She reluctantly answered that it is because I have oblique astigmatism. It was as if she did not care about my concerns and wanted me to just leave her office. I had no idea what this term meant especially since I had never heard it before, so I asked what that meant. She proceeded to laugh at me to my face for not knowing and said it would take a "2 hour optics lesson" to explain my own condition to me!! As the patient, I feel I have every right to know my condition and know what I am being prescribed and why. I was in disbelief of her condescending, rude attitude towards me!

While I enjoy the normal checkups because it is quick and she does not dilate your eyes, I will NEVER come back to her for to get a consultation or to buy contacts/glasses.

I recommend new potential clients to find a different optometrist if they want respect and understanding from their doctors.
