Downtown Milford Farmer’s Market Opening Day Saturday, May 31st

Downtown Milford, CT - Opening on Saturday, May 31st, for its 8th consecutive year, the Downtown Milford Farmer's Market promises to be bigger and better than ever while providing something for every taste and interest.  The weekly Market will run on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 11th, in the Agro Brothers parking lot at 58 River Street in downtown Milford. The Market is easily reached by foot, car, or train, and is adjacent to the west-bound railroad station. Rain or shine, approximately 20 farmers, vendors, and special exhibitors will present Connecticut-grown/Connecticut-made edibles, flowers and plants, wearing apparel, and crafts. The Market is sponsored by the Downtown Milford Business Association and is under the auspices of the Connecticut State Department of Agriculture.

Market favorites Vaiuso Farm and Rose's Berry Farm will supply seasonal fruits, vegetables, and plants.  Grande Marquis Farm will return with their specialty beef and pork products. Scratch Baking is on board to offer delicious breads, pastries, and desserts. This year, the Market is adding cupcakes from Sweet Cupcasions and gluten-free baked goods from Tasty Good Eats.  Customers can purchase Kettle corn to take home or to snack on as they stroll and peruse flowers and gifts, specialty olive oil and vinegar, clothing and accessories for women and teens, hand loomed and knitted wool products, natural soaps, and sea glass jewelry.  Market goers will also have access to fresh homemade pasta of their choosing made locally by Angelo Durante of Durante's Pasta, artisanal cheeses, and of course seafood from local suppliers. Everyone is welcome to pre-order these items through Scratch Baking or Villa Gourmet anytime for convenient pickup during markets. There are a variety of unique locally-owned stores throughout downtown Milford, including a lovely setting, great food, and indoor and outdoor dining at Café Atlantique where visitors can enjoy a break, snack or coffee.
