Milford Oyster Festival Announces Charitable Contributions

Representatives from both The Annual Milford Oyster Festival committee and the 2013 contribution recipients met at the Milford Chamber of Commerce on February 7, 2014 for a presentation of charitable funds.

The 2013 recipients include  JLHS Post Prom Committee, Foran HS Post Prom Committee, Platt Tech Post Prom, United Way of Milford - Adopt- A-Family Program,Literacy Center of Milford, Beth-El Center, Rape Crisis Center of Milford, Milford Food Bank, Boys & Girls Club of Milford, BSA/Yankee Council, Milford Children's Trout Derby, Camp Happiness,  Scholarship of Social Learning Benhaven, Sandy Ground Project, JLHS Key Club , Young Parent Program, Senior Housing AssistanceProgram - Dept of Human Service, City of Milford, Milford Animal Shelter, Milford Toys for Tots, Bridges FOS/FOF, Milford Red Cross, Milford Troop 1 BSA, Milford PD (Citizen's Police Academy),  The Beacon, Senior Make a Wish, Kids Count, Concerned Citizen's for People with Disabilities, Heat for Heroes, and Whiskey Barrels (Harbor).

“The Milford Oyster Festival Committee is pleased to be able to support these organizations.  Each one strives to make our community to be a better place. The success of the 2013 Milford Oyster festival and the contributions we are able to make is due to the can-do attitude of our citizens and volunteers. The over 70 civic groups that partook in the festival show what a caring community Milford is” said Paula Smith, Festval President.

On Saturday, August 16th, 2014 the Milford Oyster Festival will hold it’s 40th annual celebration from 10:00A.M. till 6:00 P.M.  Oyster Eve, a pre-festival event will be held on Friday, August 15th, from 6:00PM to 10:00PM
