Two Milford Eateries Named Best in State by CT Magazine

The publication's annual compilation, 'Best of Connecticut,' includes two Milford restaurants.

The editors at Connecticut Magazine say Milford has one of the state’s best neighborhood restaurants in Seven Seas and the best soup joint in Liquid Lunch.

Seven Seas was one of eight neighborhood restaurant winners chosen by the publication in its annual "Best of Connecticut" compilation.

“Milford Center has seen a flurry of new restaurants in recent years, but Seven Seas has been a mainstay on New Haven Avenue since the Smith family opened it in 1965,” the magazine editors wrote.

“The Smiths are still there chatting with patrons while dishing out their famous fish-and-chips and hot lobster rolls.”

Not far down the road from Seven Seas, Liquid Lunch got the nod for best soup in the state.

“Specializing in all things soup, Liquid Lunch gets it right. Staples like chicken noodle are always offered, but it’s the daily specials that keep soup-lovers returning again and again,” the editors wrote.

“We love the French onion soup and the creamy crab, perfect complements to the café’s fresh salads and sandwiches. And with autumn just around the corner, what better idea than to hunker down with a nice, hot bowlful?”
