Tilted Kilt Nears Opening in Milford -- Maybe

The restaurant's Facebook page says it's hired 30 servers and looks to add 60 more.

Published Sept. 5

Since the Tilted Kilt created a Facebook page for its Milford location in January 2013, there have been many "virtual" promises of an impending opening.

A March post said the restaurant was eyeing a mid-May opening. A status update two months later promised "sometime in June," the delay a result of "some out-of-state contractors."

Well now the target is mid-September, according to a post in late-August.

What is certain, though, is that the Celtic-themed sports pub is hiring, and that there are still plenty of positions open, even if the restaurant is not.

Tilted Kilt has hired about 30 servers and is looking to add 60 more, according to a Facebook post this week. Those interested in applying should head down to the Tilted Kilt at 290 Old Gate Lane anytime between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

A "Permit to Build" document taped on the inside of the glass there says the restaurant will have 177 seats in two dining rooms with 26 4-top tables, two 6-top tables and 49 barstools. There will be two projection TVs.

Also on the document are notes from a January building inspection, which cites various fire and safety items that needed to be addressed.

Milford Patch has a call into the city's director of permitting and land use and will update this story with more information as it becomes available. A spokesperson for the Tilted Kilt could not be reached for comment Thursday.
