Get Your Holiday Shopping Done on Small Business Saturday

Local leaders are hoping residents show their support for small business owners in Milford.

After shoppers are done hitting the Big Box stores on Black Friday, town leaders hope residents save some cash to support small businesses in Milford.

Picking up on a national campaign launched by American Express, Milford Mayor Ben Blake has declared Nov. 26, 2011 "Small Business Saturday." The declaration of Small Business Saturday aims to remind residents of the wonderful small businesses here in the City of Milford and acknowledges the important role they play within our community, the mayor said.

“The City of Milford recognizes the importance of our small business community and the role they play in defining city’s unique character and New England charm,“ Blake said.

He is urging residents to visit local small businesses, to give them your patronage and thank them for being apart of our community. “There is no better way to kick off our holiday shopping season then right here in downtown Milford,” Blake said.
