Eli's on Whitney Buys Daniel Street Location

The rumors are true: Eli's on Whitney opening a full service restaurant in Downtown Milford.

The Milford Economic Development Commission has confirmed reports that Eli's on Whitney has and will be "installing a kitchen and operate as a full service restaurant."

It's really great that this isn't go to stay empty but even when it was Daniel St there was no parking. Daniel St was really open only at night so there tended to be more room for parking. Now it's going to be a full service restaurant there will be absolutely no where to park. Has that been taken into consideration?

where are they going to park? Doesn't zoning require so many parking places per square foot of restaurant?

There's this thing called walking. You two should try it some time. It's excellent, especially after a meal.

My bet is we will park in the exact same places we did when it was 21 and Mustang. Behind the Library or behind the court or the Parsons lot.

We go downtown all the time, different times of day and night, and mosr of the time no problem parking! You may have to walk a block or two but usually parking is available!

Parking is not an issue downtown. I don't know why people are so lazy, you barely have to walk half an NYC block to find parking. Not particularly excited about Eli's going there, kind of run-of-the-mill bar food a la SBC and Archie Moore's. Would've liked something a bit more creative and interesting. That said, it's better than it being empty and hopefully attracts more people downtown. We do need more retail downtown for the daylight crowd. I also hope they keep the live music tradition alive. It's a great room and stage for live music. And hopefully not just crappy cover bands. I loved seeing great original music at Daniel Street.

I heard that they have good pizza.
The Downtown Milford Business Association welcomes all new businesses to our interesting mix of places to 'shop, dine & play.' Like our motto states, 'There is always something happening in Downtown Milford.' Hopefully Eli's will join the DMBA and also particpate in the DMBA's Loyalty Card.

Just what we need more people in Milford. On a good day it takes 1/2 hour just to get thru the center of town, Maybe we can build a parking garage at the duck pond!!! only place left empty.....

well said, you sound like a real genius!

Eli's is a great restaurant, much better than SBC and Archie Moore. There service is fantastic.

So, Colony Grill has opened and there's still TONS of street parking on the west half of the green. So the naysayers have a reason to be quiet about parking. A little walking is good for you.
It is true, there are many parking places in Downtown Milford currently, and just a short walk away from all the unique places to shop, dine and play in Downtown Milford. Indigo by the water has just changed their website to add 'where to park' information. The Downtown Milford Business Association will soon add a 'parking icon' to their mobile app. To note there has also been much analysis accomplished already in regard to the possibility of building a multi-level parking garage something within the greater downtown district - maybe even behind Parsons Government Center. Meanwhile, you can park there at night, plenty of spaces available and only a short walk to places to shop, dine, play in the Downtown District. There's also parking behind the Library, at Lisman Landing, behind the new Colony Grill, curbside along the streets surrounding downtown, and behind many banks along Broad Street during the evening hours. Those who love to shop, dine and play often in Downtown Milford believe it's worth a little walk (not to mention benefits of a little more exercise!) to enjoy and support small businesses in a unique, friendly environment.

Is this actually happening? There's been zero progress. Certainly not opening in August.
