There’s something new a sizzle at the popular Milford harborside restaurant Indigo By The Water.
Restaurant owner Mary Johnson is pleased to announce the addition of Sonia Salazar as the new executive chef and the premiere of several new menu items added to Indigo’s popular signature dishes.
Chef Salazar’s passion for food began when she was just seven years old, cooking recipes passed down from generation to generation.
Sonia’s prior culinary experience with the Hyatt & Westin hotels provided her the opportunity to learn from many international chefs. Her expertise was also enriched during her work with Chef Jean Pierre at the Union League Café, Chef Franco at Rumba, and during her time at Morton Steakhouse and Prime 16.
“My move to the U.S. from Colombia began my culinary exploration and opened my palate to a new world of cooking and tasting," Salazar said. "This diverse experience has rounded out my ability as a chef to prepare everything from duck confit and the perfect risotto to the best burger in town. I am pleased to bring my culinary flare to Indigo By The Water.”
The new menu at Indigo By The Water features new American cuisine with an international flare. Indigo offers daily specials, Express Lunch and a new Prix Fixe Dinner option - a three course meal for $20.
Many fresh, natural and local ingredients are used to deliver a unique and memorable dining experience. The kitchen offers a wide menu selection of homemade items made to order and to satisfy each individual’s palate and dietary needs.
In addition, Indigo offers tasty gluten-free, vegetarian, and low-carb dishes, and uses 100 percent certified natural beef and natural chicken. Another new feature is ‘Indigo’s Amazing Sunday Brunch’ – kids 6 and under eat for free.
A South Beach décor greets diners inside the glass-enclosed dining area overlooking the water - accommodating singles, couples and families. The interior also features a crisp, trendy full bar.
Indigo is famous for their 32 oz. Big Deck Drinks, just one of the many specialty drinks offered along with a large selection of wine, beers, signature Martinis, Winter Warmers, and after-dinner drinks for the upcoming cozy nights.
And then, there is the deck – the most famous deck in Milford - with an outdoor lounge to relax on comfy couches surrounded by firepits, heaters, an outdoor bar and more.
Indigo presents many unique special events throughout the year, and the space lends itself as the perfect choice for a fundraiser, corporate event, special occasion or holiday celebration. The weekend entertainment menu features Connecticut’s Best DJ’s and Acoustic performances.
