A Chat with Kara from Baby Love

The new downtown Milford business Baby Love had its ribbon cutting Friday, September 28th. We spoke with owner Kara Telep about the store's big sale Saturday, September 29th.

How did you first come up with the idea for opening a Baby Shop in Milford?

My prior experience of 7 years in the baby and child industry and love of retail led me here. I fell in love with Downtown Milford when I left the baby and child industry to help my family launch Ocean's Spray in Downtown Milford. I realized that a baby store was missing here! We needed good products for baby: organic, natural, made in USA or just good quality fun stuff!

What are some popular baby items at your shop?

What can people look forward to at your big sale on Saturday?

How has your experience been getting a local business up and running in Milford?

It was actually refreshing. I really had a lot of people in the town on my side and all the merchants were very supportive, including the DMBA. Downtown Milford is really dedicated to growing right now. If landlords and the town continue to let specialty merchants conduct business here affordable and we work together to get people down here, we will continue to see growth. That's what this economy needs, more specialty entrepreneurs.
