Super Heroes Kicks Off Easter Weekend at Barnes & Noble Milford

Children  came dressed up as Ironman, Captain America, The Hulk, Spiderman and more to Barnes & Noble Milford's first-ever Super Heroes Party. They were greeted throughout the store by staff members costumed as their favorite action adventure characters.

Johnathan, our NOOK Lead Bookseller, and Super Hero fan, led 20-plus boys and girls in an interactive Match Your Favorite Super Hero to His Villain Game. Ben, our Children's Books Lead Bookseller, designed a comprehensive Bingo game that included detailed trivia from the comic books and films that even a few Parent "Super Hero Experts" had a hard time figuring out! That didn't stop the kids from earning prizes and having a great time playing the Bingo Games!

Super Hero smoothies and cookies were served. In fact, the whole idea for a Super Hero party stemmed from the Cafe staff's creation of Super Hero hot and cold beverages made from espresso. For the past month, Barnes & Noble held an Espresso shot contest for cafes nationwide. As true to their commitment to the company, our baristas individually designed recipes and catchy names for their clever Super Hero beverages.

We hope to host another Super Hero day this summer with new games and activities for our young readers who love reading books by these exciting, strong characters!

Please check our website for more special events, such as a "Frozen" Party for Princes and Princesses--come in costume!--on Friday, May 9 at 7 pm and a "Maleficent" Party for teens and adults on Thursday, May 29 at 5 pm.
