'My Favorite Teacher' Inspires in Amity

Mackenzie Stratton, a junior at Amity High School,  dreams of one day teaching high school English classes. This decision was greatly influenced by one of her own teachers, Tasia Kimball.

This weekend Ms. Kimball was recognized as the winnner of Barnes & Noble's annual 'My Favorite Teacher' contest. In stores throughout the country, middle and high school students are encouraged to submit an essay or a poem describing an educator who has positively impacted their lives.

At Saturday's reception, Ms. Stratton read her award-winning essay. School Supt. Chip Dumais and Amity High School's principal, Dr. Charles Britton, were on hand to offer words of praise and congratulations for both teacher and student.
