Beach Avenue took a risk on last week's episode of "America's Got Talent," choosing to audition an original song for the show's celebrity judges.

Armed with their folky-pop tune "Coming Your Way," three of the band's members swept four enthusiastic "yeses" from Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel. Beach Avenue will continue to the next round of competition.

The band performed during the Los Angeles auditions, which took place April 21-26 in the Dolby Theater, and the Milford musicians appear on the sixth episode of season nine.

The name Beach Avenue comes from the street of the Milford house where the members lived. The group has collected more than 9,000 fans on its Facebook page at the time of this article, and the number is growing.

You can see Beach Avenue perform live Thursday, July 17, as part of Bridgeport's Downtown Thursdays concert series.
