The Remington Disarmed: Photographs + Pastels by Janine Brown

The Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council will exhibit the pastel drawings and photographs of Fairfield resident, Janine Brown, in an exhibition titled “The Remington Disarmed”. The exhibition will be on view from January 20th through February 16th at The Arcade Gallery @ BACC located in the historic Arcade Building at 1001-12 Main Street, Bridgeport.  An opening reception for the artist will take place on Thursday, January 27th from 5pm – 7pm.

The works on exhibit were created at Brown's former studio in the Remington Arms Factory on Arctic Street in Bridgeport. Brown photographed the abandoned machinery and the building structure, intentionally moving the camera to create blurred and abstract photographs. She then used the photographs to inform her multi-layered pastel works resulting in an image far removed from the original source.

Come meet the artist and experience the lively Bridgeport Art Scene.
