NUTMEG SYMPHONIC POPS FREE CONCERT

The Nutmeg Symphonic Pops Orchestra will perform "Ladies of Broadwayon' at the West Haven Green, Saturday, August 13 at 5 p.m. Vocalists Barbara Longobardi, Linda Ciaburri, Marie Celso and David Sylvia will be performing during the event. The Symphony was founded in 1986 by Dr. Ciaburri and Gloria "Dodie" Ireland for the West Haven Council of the Arts.  It was originally named West Haven Civic Orchestra, although now it has a different name and is the Orchestra in Residence of Gateway Community College. Dr. Ciaburri began conducting at the age of 11 while a student at Thompson School, where he conducted the school orchestra and chorus on the West Haven Green. Dr. Ciaburri is a West Haven businessman as well as a professor at Gateway Community College.  The 60 pieces orchestra is the Orchestra in Residence of Gateway Community College.
