Art Stroll at Walnut Beach

As Winter comes to a halt, Spring has definitely made every effort to show us her resilience. Look at each tree, you can see the buds starting to appear; daffodils are sprouting as is the crocuses. And all of this is neither myth nor legend, it is truth, it is fact, it is the Law of Mother Nature.

And yes, the Second Art Stroll is fast approaching us at the same time as the Spring Event Mother Nature is displaying.

Firehouse Gallery at 81 Naugatuck Avenue will be presenting an exhibit entitled "Myths and Legends." The exhibit will be juried by Susan Clinard, sculptor and art instructor. A graduate of University of Michigan, she has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Palette and Chisel Academy of Art and Gallery 37, and currently is an instructor at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven.
Accepted entries will be exhibited from march 10th to April 7th. The Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, March 10th starting at 6:00 pm.

As their event winds down at 8:00 pm make sure you head down Naugatuck Avenue (actually 7 doors down on your right) to SoBoBo gallery where Marcia Delaney-Wiltsie is exhibiting as March's Artist. Her work is mindful of Monet...

While there, meander about and see the works by artisan Lara Sendich - her gerdans remind you of something Nefertiti would wear...see the abstracts by Lisa Salerno, the deco work by Allan Dudek, the pottery by Angela Alvisi, watercolors by Vinita Manjunath, the jewelry by Daliah Fowler, Teru Rexroad, Keelin Brett, Kate Davoli, and more. Paintings oils/acrylics by Rona Harris, Frieda Howling, Matt Roe, Arlene Capozzi, Joan Fresher, Rick Senft, Betsey Writght and more...sculptures, wood carvings, quilts, and fiber art by Mary Anne Lagana!

After visiting and meeting Marcia, you might want to go three doors down from SoBoBo to Alpha's Jolly Jug and try the wines they are presenting to taste. Take a sip, let it roll over your taste buds...Delicious! After trying their vino, and perhaps pick up a bottle or two for home...

...do not forget to go down to the stop sign and turn right onto Broadway, as you turn the corner you may hear music playing. Follow the sounds and you will find yourself sitting in Wild Expressions, sharing space with Collected Stories...They too have local artists showing work...from jewelry to paintings to photos!

Enjoy the evening!
