Milford Resident Almost Tosses $20,000 “Super Draw” Lottery Prize

The following is a press release from CT Lottery.

Henry Clark Wins Second Prize in New Year’s $1,000,000 Super Draw Game.

Days after the “New Year’s $1,000,000 Super Draw” drawing had been held on January 1, Henry Clark of Milford was reminded by his wife, Bonnie, to check the tickets they had purchased for any winners.  After taking a quick glance at the winning Super Draw numbers on the lottery’s website (ctlottery.org), Henry reported that they didn’t win.  If not for a gentle nudge from Bonnie to check again, they would have missed out on claiming one of the ten $20,000 second prizes in the game.

“I asked Henry to show me how he checked the numbers and together we looked at the numbers for a second time on the computer,” Bonnie told Lottery officials.  “Just about at the same moment, we both noticed we had a number match – 142332 – for $20,000.”

“If it wasn’t for Bonnie, we wouldn’t have won.  I almost threw the ticket away!” Henry said with a laugh.

The Clarks, who recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, arrived at Lottery headquarters to accept a prize check for $13,663 (value after taxes).  They plan to share their Super Draw prize with their three daughters and put the rest in the bank.
