Ok on the possibility I might tick some of you off , I'm Sorry (sort of). I am sick to death of the extreme right and the extreme left.

What this country needs is to be able to mourn without being sensationalized by the media. We need to come to our own beliefs and conclusions without slamming someone else for their beliefs and lose the politically correct garbage because there is nothing correct about a politician.

We need to protect our families and friends by common sense approachs and not knee jerk reactions or bs political agendas on either side. We need to boycott reality TV because there is absolutely nothing real about it and its giving our children the wrong message.

We need to limit our children's intake of violent games and movies (you notice I didn't say pass legislation thats because it's your job parents and grandparents...stop looking to the government to correct YOUR problems they can't even correct their own!!!)

We truly need to come together as one nation under God as our fore fathers intended and not as the politicians would wish. Did you ever wonder why we are refered to as whites, or blacks or hispanics, etc. or polls on this group or that (because they don't want us to come together..remember UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL)?

We should be refered to as AMERICANS.........We the people, by the people, for the people..WAKE UP AMERICA because I for one am getting sick of it and am not going to be silent anymore (not that I really was ever silent).

So in closing Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and........Heavenly Father watch over, protect, and hold in your loving embrace all of our "little angels" and those that would lay down their lives to protect and teach them, for You are the hope and the answer. Amen

Rick - This is a very delicate time not only for those in Newtown, but also for children in general. There is a great deal of hypocrisy surrounding us and being exhibited by the media and our leadership. If you look at life as it is, it's quite simple, but it's people who make it complicated. For the last week, I've watch experts come on the various media outlets providing guidance to people on how to explain what is happening to their children. But despite what they are preaching, they continue to publish stories that only incite extreme emotion and political discourse. I'm not an alarmist, although this tragedy has hit myself and a lot of us more because we are so close to it, have children, and personal ties to Newtown. Although I acknowledge that your points are correct, how does it really help these kids? They have no concept of the political climate in this country, they are trying to be kids and gain an education. What I find ironic is that are really smarter than all of us (whether you wish to admit it or not). The reason is quite simple, they have the ability to look at things from a fresh and unaltered viewpoint. They are capable of this, but we are not. They say with age comes wisdom. In the last view years I've found this to be so untrue. If you want guidance in what is most important, look to our children. You'd be surprised how insightful they can be. Kids do say the darndest things. God Bless the children of Newtown, our State, and our country.

Here in Milford we can all stand united as a nation and show it. Right down to taking down the billboard on High St and the Post Rd.
