Milford: Girl Scouts' Cookie Sale

Cost: $0 to attend, cookie prices vary

Description: "Girl Scout cookies are here! Cookies will be for sale at Stop & Shop on East Town Road on Saturday. Come down and buy a box or two.  Or send a box to our troops through our Cookies for Heroes program."

Norwalk: Around the World Series Egypt

Where: Stepping Stones Museum for Children

When: Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: In a highly participatory and entertaining program, Egyptian artist Karim Nagi demonstrates the depth of Arab art through music and dance.

Greenwich: Yale MFA: Five Years Later

Norwalk: Norwalk Stamp Show

Description: Stamp collectors throughout southwestern Connecticut will convene in Norwalk as the Norwalk Stamp Club honors the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation with a special cache and canellation at its annual Stamp Show.

Greenwich: First Sunday Bird Walk at Greenwich Point Park

Description: Meet at the concession stand for a walk along the coast and park trails to see the winged inhabitants of the town park. Bring binoculars. Held in collaboration with Bruce Museum, Wild Wings, and Audubon Greenwich.

The Southbury Bridal Show

Where: The Heritage Hotel, 522 Heritage Rd, Southbury, CT

Description: Brides, friends and family members can enjoy an afternoon of browsing the areas top wedding industry vendors as businesses showcase their products and services.

Darien: 46th Annual Darien Antiques Show

Where: First Congregational Church of Darien, 14 Brookside Rd, Darien, CT

When: Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11:30 am to 5 pm.

Cost: Tickets are $10 at the door; $8 for seniors, advanced sales, and ad/discount card holders.

Description: Celebrating its 46th year, the show features over 33 hand-selected dealers of fine furniture, art, carpets, jewelry, and decorative accessories. Party proceeds primarily benefit Inspirica (formerly St. Luke’s Lifeworks).

Fairfield: Friends Classic Mini Golf Extravaganza

Where: Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Rd, Fairfield, CT

When: Sunday, March 3, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $5/person or $20/family

Description: Come play mini-golf inside the Fairfield Woods Branch Library! Raffle baskets, food and fun.

Oxford: Youth Baseball Tryouts

Where: Oxford High School

When: Sunday at Noon

Cost: Registration fee; discuss at tryouts

Description: Youth baseball players in Oxford must try out in order to be placed on a team. All players make a team. 

Naugatuck: Clothing Drive

Where: Naugatuck High School

When: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Cost: Donations of clothes accepted

Description: Bring clothes for the NHS softball team's clothing drive.

Bethel: Spring Cycling Series

Where: 7 Francis J. Clarke Circle

When: Sunday, March 3, at 8 a.m.

Cost: $25

Description: Get your bike ready. The Bethel Spring Series returns to the Francis J. Clarke Circle  for seven Sundays in March and April 2013, held under the auspices of USA Cycling, the national cycling federation.

Bridgeport: Mikey's Way Hockey Game

Where: 600 Main St.

When: Sunday, March 3, at 3 p.m.

Cost: $20

Description:  The Bridegport Sound Tigers will be hosting The Connecticut Whale at Webster Bank Arena. Of the ticket price, $5 will go directly to Mikey's Way.

Brookfield: Self Defense Seminar

Where: FormFitting Fitness, 265 Federal Road

When: Saturday, March 2, at 1 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: A guest speaker will teach the basic principles and techniques of the most effective self defense methods.

Easton: Easton DTC Mid-Winter Cocktail Party

Where: 10 Easton Heights Lane

When: Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m.

Cost: $25

Description: The Easton DTC would like to invite everyone regardless of affiliation to the second annual Mid-Winter Cocktail Party to celebrate four Democratic officials who have volunteered their time and talents for many years, and have recently stepped down from their positions in town government.

Shelton: Suzanne Sheridan Sings

Where: Huntington Street Café, 90 Huntington St.

When: Saturday, March 2, at 8 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Huntington Street Café in Shelton has a habit and her name is Suzanne Sheridan. For good reason – Sheridan knows her way around a song and the crowds at Huntington Street Café know a good thing when they hear it.

Weston: Opera Dinner Series

Where: Cobb's Mill Inn, 12 Old Mill Rd.

When: Sunday, March 3, at 5 p.m.

Cost: $35

Description: "Diva" Laura Papallo will entertain you with an interesting look at the development of the Viennese School of Classical Music. Chef Michael Achille will prepare Viennese specialties like Wiener Schnitzel and Sachertorte for your dining pleasure. "Diva" Laura will sing your Viennese favorites while you dine.

Wilton: Ticket Sales for The Little Mermaid Jr.

Where: Village Market, 108 Old Ridgefield Road

When: Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to noon

Cost: Tickets are $12 each.

Description: Ticket sales for The Little Mermaid Jr. show will be at the Village Market are ongoing. Performances are March 15 to 17.

Wilton: Cat Adoption Event

Woodbury: Maple Syrup Demonstrations

Where: Flanders Nature Center, 5 Church Hill Road

Description: Come experience a New England tradition: the maple sugar-making process at Flanders Nature Center's fully-functioning Sugar House.


Description: Animals in Distress is a free roaming cat shelter located in Wilton behind Town Hall. Stop by every Saturday or by appointment.

Woodbridge: WVFA's Snowflake Dance

Where: 10 Milhaven Road

When: Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m.

Cost: $25 per person or $175 for a table of 8

Description: Come enjoy a night out dancing, a silent auction, food and more.

Woodbridge: Bethwood Bash Band Night

Where: 10 Selden St.

When: Sunday, March 3, at 5 p.m.

Cost: $5

Description: Bethwood Bash Band Night features live music by the Forresters, Terra Firma, REVvival and THOSE GUYS, gaming, basketball, food and fun. Open to Amity 7th and 8th graders only.
