The following is a press release send in by the Milford Recreation Department.

Come to Bodies Place and Support Sandy Hook Elementary School This Sunday December 23, 2012.

We will remember the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy and come together as a community to support all of the survivors.

We will be collecting:

  • Backpacks
  • Coats
  • Hats Gloves
  • Mittens
  • School Supplies
  • Toys
  • Monetary Donations

All to be sent to the United Way of Western CT.

We are asking that all items be new and unwrapped. Along with donations we will also be decorating paper snowflakes at the park to send to Sandy Hook.

Please come with your children and decorate a snowflake! We will be at the park Sunday collecting from 9:00-3:00.

I don't get this at all. Yes, I mourn for the twenty children who died needlessly, but why do the survivors need mittens and backpacks and school supplies? What are the monetary donations going to be used for? This whole notion strikes me as bizarre.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.

Please contact Forgotten Felines in Clinton. They are a no kill cat shelter. Offering "free toRead More a good home" pets is dangerous. There are bad people out there who take them and sell them to research labs or use them as bait in dog fighting. Please rethink this ad.
