Milford: Argentine Guitarist Ricardo Moyano Performs

Where: Milford Fine Arts Council Inc, 40 Railroad Ave, Milford, CT 

When: Saturday, March 9, 8 p.m.

Cost: $20

Description: The Milford Fine Arts Council welcomes Ricardo Moyano to the stage at Milford Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m..  A multi-faceted Argentine guitarist, he is a master of Argentine folk music as well as folk traditions of the world including Turkey, Costa Rica, Colombia, Basque and more.

 

Bethel: Spring Cycling Series Kicks Off

Where: 7 Francis J Clarke Circle

When: Sunday, March 3, 8 a.m.

Cost: $25

Description: The Bethel Spring Series returns to the Francis J Clarke Circle  for seven Sundays in March and April 2013, held under the auspices of USA Cycling, the national cycling federation. This Series has become the cornerstone spring event for many racers in the New England area, drawing folks from as far away as Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and occasional guests from Canada and points south like Pennsylvania or Virginia.

Fairfield: Jennifer Butler 2013 Spring Fashion Show

Where: The Delamar Hotel, 275 Old Post Rd, Southport, CT

When: Friday, March 8, 7 p.m.

Cost: $70 (Proceeds benefit the Fairfield Public Library)

Description: Fairfield's own clothing designer Jennifer Butler presents her 2013 collection for women, men, and girls. The evening begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. -- then the show starts.

Fairfield: Family Day – Renaissance Art and Culture

Where: The Bellarmine Museum of Art, 1073 N Benson Rd, Fairfield, CT

When: Saturday, March 9, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Drop-in activities, child-friendly gallery talks, story times in the museum – call 203-254-4046 or email museum@fairfield.edu to reserve a spot.

Southbury: Learn to Stitch a Sampler

Where: Old Town Hall Museum, 624 S Britain Rd, Southbury, CT

When: Sunday, March 10, 1 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: The Southbury Historical Society, in partnership with The Golden Button, will offer a special two-part needle-working program for youth ages 8 and older.

Bethany: BVFD Pancake Bunny Breakfast

Where: Bethany Fire Dept. Headquarters, 765 Amity Road
 

When: Sunday, March 10, 8 a.m. 

Cost: $10

Description: The cost for the breakfast is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children younger than age 3 attend for free. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. One photograph with the Easter Bunny is included per family.

Woodbridge: Massaro Community Farm Meeting

Where: 5 Meetinghouse Lane

When: Sunday, March 10, 1:30 p.m. 

Cost: Free

Description: If you're curious about the farm, this is your chance to speak to board members and staff one-on-one and ask questions about farming, land stewardship and events at the farm.

Norwalk: Spring Flower and Design Competition

Where: Rowayton Historical Society, 177 Rowayton Avenue

When: Saturday, March 9, at 9 a.m. and Sunday, March 10, at noon

Cost: Free

Description: The two-day flower show features blooming tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses, trees, shrubs and other plant materials in horticulture and floral designs by Rowayton Gardeners' members.

Norwalk: Family Festival

Where: Norwalk Concert Hall, 125 East Ave.

When: Sunday, March 10, 3 p.m. 

Cost: $20

Description: Norwalk Symphony is joined by members of the Norwalk Youth Symphony in a side-by-side concert presenting Rossini's Overture to William Tell and Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf narrated by actor/director James Naughton.

 

Orange: A Taste Of Greece

Where: St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road 

When: Saturday, March 9, 11 a.m. 

Cost: Free to attend, meals available for purchase

Description: A Taste of Greece features a feast of classic Greek cuisine: Avgolemeno Soup (egg lemon), Greek Salad, Spanakopita (spinach pie), Tiropita (cheese pie), Gyro, Pork Souvlaki, Lamb dinner, Pastitisio (Greek style lasagna), Greek style roasted chicken and assorted pastries.
