HCC Student Gives Best Elevator Pitch

HCC student Naila Haroon of Trumbull recently won an award for making the best presentation in an elevator pitch competition held at HCC.

BRIDGEPORT – Housatonic Community College student and Trumbull resident Naila Haroon (left) recently won an award for making the best presentation in an elevator pitch competition held at HCC.

An elevator pitch is a capsule summary of a business proposal that can hopefully motivate potential investors to lend financial support.

Haroon’s proposal was for a fast casual South Asian eatery that serves Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi cuisine, including Indian halal fast food. Haroon received a cash award while HCC received a trophy for her accomplishment.

Shown here with Haroon are fellow HCC contestants Luis Rodriguez of Orange (center) and Nicole LaLuna of Milford. Students from HCC and New Haven’s Gateway Community College participated.
