Pantochino's Summer Theatre Camps in Milford

Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc. will present four weeks of Summer Theatre Camp for young actors at the Center for the Arts on Railroad Avenue in Milford beginning July 7th.

Presented and hosted by the Milford Arts Council, this will be Pantochino’s third year of  exciting, unique and unmatched theatre camps where young actors learn, rehearse and perform an original new musical in just five days. The principal instructors are Pantochino’s Bert Bernardi, Jimmy Johansmeyer and Justin Rugg. “What sets our camps apart from others is our style. The kids have a great time from the minute they arrive till it’s time to go,” said Johansmeyer. Bernardi adds “Jimmy has a great rapport with the kids and they respond to it. They respect him and have so much fun following his directions  and suggestions, and they have a great time in doing so.”

The first three Summer Theatre Camps each culminate in the performance of a brand new musical written by Bernardi and Rugg. Session One (July 7 –11) will bring Daniel Kirk’s treasured book “Snow Dude!” to life. It’s all about a runaway snowman and his delightful adventure in a frozen world.  Session Two (July 21 –25) features “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory Outlet Store,” a zany new spoof of the delicious classic story. Session Three (July 28-August 1) will be “Beauty and the Best (Sort Of!),” the second in a series of severely fractured tales, offering a brand new take to a favorite story. These camps are offered to young actors age 7 to 13 years old.

 Pantochino will also debut it’s inventive new theatre camp called “The Theatre Games” being offered August 4-8th. Here, young actors age 8 to 15 will compete in teams on creative ‘theatre’ challenges. Johansmeyer envisions this as a “Hunger Games” for actors. Acting, improv, directing and other theatre challenges are inspired by “Cupcake Wars,” “Project Runway,” “Chopped,” “Survivor” and more. Each day features new challenges along with guest coaches and judges.

 Enrollment is limited to 30 campers per session, first come first served. Tuition for all of the camps is $250. per week, per actor. A discounted rate of $200. is available for siblings or friend enrolling together for the same camp/week. Registration forms are available to download online at www.pantochino.com.
