Memory Loss Expert to Lecture at The Watermark

On Tuesday, November 26, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host a discussion on memory loss issues, including Alzheimer’s disease and different forms of dementia, in honor of National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. The event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the retirement community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport/Fairfield town line.

 

The discussion will be led by Dr. Rahul Gupta, Medical Director at The Watermark at 3030 Park. Dr. Gupta will address the basics of memory loss, including signs and symptoms to look out for to help detect issues early. He will also discuss available treatment options, steps to lower the risk of developing any issues, and how memory loss affects patients and their families.

“In honor of National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we wanted to offer our residents and guests an opportunity to learn more about different forms of memory loss,” said Dr. Gupta. “Whether you are a person living with memory loss, or a family member or caregiver, we encourage everyone to attend this discussion and ask questions.”

A graduate of Kasturba Medical College in India, Dr. Gupta completed his residencies in internal medicine at both Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Flushing, NY and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, NY. He also received a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY.

 

In addition to serving as Medical Director at The Watermark at 3030 Park, Dr. Gupta also serves as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Medicine at Quinnipiac University; Chief of the Division of Geriatrics at St. Vincent’s Medical Center; Regional Medical Director at Amedysis Home Health Care; and a Partner Physician at Drs. Goldfarb, Ranno & Associates. He currently resides in Westport with his wife and two children.
