Letter To Mayor Blake

Recieved this letter from a neighbor who is angry with Mayor Blake

I am a resident in Lexington Green and for over eight years I take my dog for a walk around our quiet neighborhood of which is near a church. While walking, I find it appalling that I step in dog feces on the city sidewalks, grass, blacktop, etc. in front of our development even on the public road. You get the idea. I have never not stopped to clean up after my little 19-pound dog. It seems that some in the community thinks it's fine to let their pets dump where and when it is convenient, and don't even live in our development, as well as in the alleys and backyards, of which one is that backyard of our community church.

Will the town of Milford be reimbursing me for the numerous shoes that have been ruined, or should I deduct that from my taxes?

Now let's move over to the street issues near my mothers house. I have now replaced my van mirror on the driver's side twice from speeding trucks and cars, at my cost of $350 each. And don't even think about putting a police officer out there on the Bridgeport Ave. or a traffic counter. Milford has been doing that for years, and they stick around for a couple of days and then back to the same old thing.

We have brought up these concerns many times when the Devon Revitalization Committee was asking to build near the end of the street. Ring any bells? What ever happened to the so-called speed bumps? That would slow down the trucks or that tremendous number of out-of-state cars that fly down on a Friday around 1 p.m. to go to lord knows where?

And last but not least, this is what broke the final straw on Monday. My mothers 12-year-old cat was killed by a speeding truck, and they didn't even stop. There's a life that can't be replaced. Thank God that wasn't a child. Yes, this is a street also with a family church, so now what will you do for me? Raise my parents' taxes again? Let's see how worthwhile this letter is to you. Asking for our votes makes me very angry. At the moment I am waiting for my son to graduate from St. Pauls so I can get the heck out of Milford and my association where I get next to nothing for my super high taxes. Let's see if your reply.
