FEMA Reimbursements

Here are two important pieces of information for Milford residents that are registered with FEMA:

Applicants who applied for FEMA assistance may still be eligible for assistance if they have not submitted their insurance denial or settlement back to FEMA. The declaration date for the disaster was October 30, 2012 and applicants have 12 months from their registration date to provide FEMA with an insurance settlement or denial letter.

Some FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) applicants who live in Special Flood Hazard zone A or V who accepted FEMA IHP assistance and did not have flood insurance may have had a requirement placed on them to maintain flood insurance for their home. If an applicant with this requirement did not maintain flood insurance and was affected by another flooding event, they would not be eligible for funding from FEMA Individual Assistance.
