Education Foundation Offers Mini-Grants to Teachers

In keeping with its mission--To promote excellence, innovation, and creativity in education for our children and community--the Milford Education Foundation (MEF) launched its Mini-Grant Program on October 30th for teachers in the Milford Public Schools. The Foundation will award grants between $500 and $1,000 for projects that exemplify innovation and provide enhanced educational opportunities for students.

MEF began receiving teacher submissions immediately after the program was launched and indicated it anticipates many more.  Foundation President James Maroney remarked, “Based on the inquiries we’re receiving, teachers are really excited and putting great creative thought into their projects.” Applicants are required to show how their proposed project will support the current curriculum and have a meaningful impact on students. Teachers who receive funding will present their projects at a Milford Education Foundation recognition event in the spring.
