On Saturday 12/8 at 11am New England Ballet and Milford's Merry Musical Theater will present their Adaptive Nutcracker.
Milford Recreation Department's Merry Musical Theater program, is produced for special-needs performers to introduce audiences and participants alike to the performing arts. In each of the three past years, the organization’s production of The Nutcracker has featured a cast whose dancers include young people with autism, Down syndrome, and other emotional and physical disabilities. For months dancers from New England ballet Company have been mentors helping Merry Musical Theater particpiants learn the story and choreography.
This year New England ballet company was a recipient of the C Newton Schenck Lifetime Achievement Award from The New Haven Arts Council. The company was recognized for the Adaptive Nutcracker.
Everyone that sees this show will tell you, it is a holiday memory that will not be soon forgotten.
