Suspected Thief Tries Stealing Nuts
The following arrest information was provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.
A Milford woman was arrested on Sunday after allegedly stealing $116 worth of nuts from Stop and Shop. According to Milford police, Maria Henne, 66, of Hale Avenue, was caught by store employees taking 13 bags of an unspecified variety of nuts.
She told police she lives in New York, but had a Connecticut license plate. In addition to sixth-degree larceny, she was charged with interfering with police and released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 14.
Other Arrests
George Smith, 32, of Linden Drive, was charged with second-degree harassment, criminal trespass and violation of a protective order on Jan. 29. Bail was set at $1,000.
Two out of town men were arrested on Old Gate Lane on drug charges on Jan. 27. According to Milford Police, Sean Davis, 28, of Stratford, and David Lane, 48, of Orange, were spotted in a vehicle and police deemed them to be “suspicious.” Crack cocaine and prescription drugs not in their original container were found inside the vehicle. Davis was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, while Lane was charged for the medication not in the original container. Both were released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 14.
John Unwin, 53, of Milford, was arrested on charges of second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct after getting involved in an altercation at a hotel. He was held on $5,000 bond.
