Carter Mario Law Firm Pledges $10,000 in Grants
The Milford Law Firm is accepting submissions for the 2012 Arrive Alive Scholarship Program.
In an effort to help alleviate the cost of college tuition and better educate young people on the dangers of drunk and distracted driving, The Law Offices of Carter Mario Injury Lawyers has announced a scholarship contest for Connecticut high school seniors.
Applicants will be asked to prepare a presentation on the dangers of drunk driving, as well as distracted driving by teens using cell phones while behind the wheel.
Ten high school seniors will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship each as part of the 2012 Arrive Alive Scholarship Program.
"As we celebrate our 7th year of supporting academic excellence of Connecticut’s youth, our goal continues to remain the same: to help educate the young people of Connecticut in making smart decisions regarding safe driving practices,“ says firm President & CEO, Carter Mario.
“If we can help to save one life, it is worth it. If we do nothing, auto accidents and tragedies resulting not only from teens texting on their cell phone while driving, but also underage drinking will continue to rise here in Connecticut. This scholarship program is our firm taking a stance on distracted driving and alcohol abuse by our state’s teens," said Mario
Since the program's inception in 2006, Carter Mario Injury Lawyers has granted $54,000 in scholarships to 53 graduating high school seniors in Connecticut.
Presentations can be in the form of essays, videos, PowerPoint presentations or informative brochures, which will be judged by Mario and his staff. All entries must be postmarked no later than Monday, March 26, 2012 to qualify for the scholarship.
